This witty, bittersweet play follows Heidi Holland and a few close friends through three decades of sweeping social change in America. From a mid-'60s high school dance to Heidi's life as a Columbia art history professor in the late '80s, the drama zooms in on key moments of their intertwined lives: their relationships, politics and the women's liberation movement. With dialogue in the coded repartee of good friends, it chronicles their coming-of-age in a society filled with uncertainty and soul-searching, their newfound ideals tempered by the reality of careers, partners and parenthood. The Heidi Chronicles, which made history by winning both a Pulitzer and Tony Award, is a wryly incisive commentary on contemporary life and the timeless search for self-discovery. The play is directed by Jamie Horton, seasoned actor, director, TV and film writer, and longtime artist with the Denver Center Theatre Company.
