Pianist-in-residence Sally Pinkas is joined by emerging talent Giora Schmidt on violin and cellist Michal Schmidt. A protégé of Itzhak Perlman, Giora won the 2003 Avery Fisher Career Grant and has performed as a soloist with such symphonies as Phoenix, Chicago, Israel Philharmonic and Cuba's Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional. His Perlman/Schmidt/Bailey Trio has played at the Kennedy Center, Interlochen and the Ravinia Festival. Award-winning Israeli-born cellist Michal Schmidt is on the faculty of Dickinson College and member of Four Horizons Quartet. At the Hop, the three perform Beethoven's Trio in E-Flat Major, Op. 70, No. 2; Brahms' Piano Trio in B Major, Op. 8; and Manuel de Falla's Suite Populaire Espagnole for Violin and Piano.
