An explosive fusion of funk, hip-hop, boogaloo, Afrobeat and Nuyorcuban soul, this New York band is “the most smoking Afro-Latin groove joint since the 1970s” (Timeout New York). With sizzling global rhythms, Spanglish rap, Yoruba chants and searing horns, Yerba Buena has amassed a huge cult following through live shows called “a guaranteed blast” (L.A. Times), opening performances for Dave Matthews Band and their '03 Grammy-nominated debut release President Alien. With songs like Guajira (I Love U 2 Much) on the Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights movie soundtrack and Wassamatter Baby?, this eclectic collective is “the best new afrobeat band on the scene...brawny, ecstatic and deeply funky” (The Fader).
