From the farming villages of this stunning region come master performers of Yi, Naxi, Wa, Dai and Hani heritage. Their music and dance feature richly embroidered regalia and a stunning array of stringed instruments, flutes and drums, and speak compellingly of family, love, war and survival. From high, keening songs and earthly yells to ritual dances, the performance is surprising, moving, immediate and joyous.
