Young@Heart ChorusTuesday, APRIL 17 7 pmThe Moore Theater Young@Heart on NPR's Morning Edition
Click to download PROGRAM NOTES The Young@Heart Chorus is no rest-home sing-along. Darlings of the media from TIME to The Daily Show and a sensation at European festivals, these surprising octogenarians take a walk on the wild side, melting hearts and blowing minds. With their live band, they create a knock-your-socks off, profound, haunting drama, a musical celebration of life on the edge of losing it...gripping...musical theatre (Sunday Telegraph). Comic but shrewdly ironic, they belt out loaded lyrics of the Beatles, Stones, Clash and OutKast: What a drag it is getting old! Should I Stay or Should I Go? Transformed by age but still the same, the Massachusetts- based chorus triumphantly asserts its final passion, Forever Young! Cosponsored by the Dartmouth Community Medical School with support from a generous contribution from the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Charitable Foundation. |
