Leave the world of normalcy at the door and enter a magical, toy-like universe that's equal parts circus, theater of illusion and silent comedy. Enrapturing sold-out audiences from Spoleto Festival to Hong Kong, Aurélia's Oratorio concocts an inside-out reality in a charmingly witty and intelligently silly “visual feast of distortion and trickery” (RTÉ Entertainment). Since performing as a child in her parents' famed Le Cirque Imaginaire, Aurélia Thierrée has perfected the art of fantasy. Now, in this make-believe realm with jaunty Gypsy music, emerging from a chest of drawers arms and legs akimbo, swinging elegantly from the stage curtains or dancing through hidden doors, she creates a whimsical yet sophisticated phantasmagoria that's “irresistible…and… breathtaking” (The Stage Newspaper).

This performance is funded in part by the Expeditions Program of the New England Foundation for the Arts, which receives major support from the National Endowment for the Arts with additional support from the state arts agencies of New England.
Supported in part by the Dartmouth Summer Arts Initiative. See dartmouth.edu/~lhc for complete Arts Initiative events list
