The indisputable tap virtuoso of the age (and still in his 30s), Savion Glover transmutes music with explosive body language that embodies tap history and delves into new dimensions. Pelting out intense polyrhythms and subtle syncopations, he merges percussive sounds into a complex musical mosaic. Since age 10 when he debuted on Broadway and his 20s when he won a Tony and two Obies for the Broadway hit Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk', Glover's reinvented the possibilities of this vital dance form. In his heart-stopping new show, Bare Soundz, he's joined by hoofers Marshall Davis Jr. and Maurice Chestnut for an exuberant celebration of a cappella rhythm, launching tap into rapturous, yet undiscovered realms.
