With its dynamic energy, groundbreaking technique and stylish movement, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater has transformed perceptions of American dance in every corner of the globe. Grounded in the brilliant blues legacy of Alvin Ailey—“the quintessential American choreographer” (The New York Times)—the company continues to embrace both luscious physicality and sublime ethereality. Jazzy, soulful, sensuous and powerful, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater comes to the Hop for an unforgettable appearance in the intimate Moore Theater. Performing Ailey's spiritual signature piece Revelations and Talley Beatty's Road of the Phoebe Snow, set to jazz by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, they once again prove their preeminence in the dance world.
