SALLY PINKAS, pianoMonday, June 1 7 pm In this solo concert, Sally Pinkas plays Beethoven's Sonata in G Major, Op. 31, No. 1, a brilliant, whimsical and graceful work emblematic of the composer's consummate mastery of rhythmic subtlety. Culminating her exploration of Fauré's musicreleased on CDs by Musica Omnia (Thirteen Nocturnes) and MSR Classics (Piano Quartets recorded with the Adaskin String Trio)Pinkas performs the French composer's late Barcarolles, the brooding and sparse Nos. 9 - 13. And in a dramatically triumphant finale, she performs the epic Sonata No. 8 in B-Flat Major by the great 20th-century Russian composer, Sergei Prokofiev.
