Modern dance partners with ballet in this company that's skyrocketed to international star status since its founding in '96. Sleek, chic and smooth, its dozen members embrace an eclectic repertoire by today's most sought-after choreographers, reshaping classical dance with an intensity that's thrilled audiences at such venues as The Joyce Theater, Jacob's Pillow and The Kennedy Center. Performing Twyla Tharp's 1975 classic Sue's Leg, a buoyant pastiche of 1930s dance-hall styles set to music by Fats Waller—as well as Fugaz (Fleeting) by Cayetano Soto, Slingerland Pas de Deux by William Forsythe and 1st Flash by Jorma Elo—Aspen Santa Fe Ballet proves its reputation as a “jewel of a company…a refreshing surprise” (Backstage.com).

Part of Dartmouth's Summer Arts Festival eMotion.

This performance is made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts American Masterpieces Dance Initiative, administered by the New England Foundation for the Arts.
