WORLD MUSIC PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE

HOPSTOP FAMILY SERIES:

THE LORAX GOES LATIN

Hafiz Shabazz, director

Saturday, November 14 • 11 am
Alumni Hall • Free
General admission

This Hop ensemble spices up Dr. Seuss's famous children's book, The Lorax—and its message about the environment—with the rhythms of salsa, mambo and rap for hip-moving, toe-tapping fun for all ages. An interactive storytelling concert, it teaches about caring for nature, while relating the cautionary tale of the greedy Once-ler who cut down all the beautiful Truffula trees, not heeding the warnings of the Lorax. And now, with just one Truffula seed left—entrusted to a little boy—participants can dance for joy in the hope of restoring nature and a green future for the world.
