Jones continues his legacy of exploring truth, justice, beauty and strength in his newest dance/theater work, commissioned for the Lincoln bicentennial. Through song, spoken narrative, live music, emotionally stirring movementand an uplifting libretto drawn from Shakespeare, the Old Testament, Walt Whitman and the 16th President's own wordsthis internationally treasured choreographer builds on his previous Lincoln-centered work, Serenade/The Proposition, to create a provocative evening-length piece whose stated aim is to "see [Lincoln's] expansive vision as a mirror for our time."
