PLAY, SING & DANCE AT DARTMOUTH!

If you're a dancer, singer or instrumentalist and you'd like to work with highly challenging professionals in a stimulating environment, consider what the Hopkins Center has to offer. The “Hop” is an award-winning multidisciplinary cultural center that houses the music, studio art, theater and film faculty, and offers performance venues ranging from an acoustically superior 900-seat auditorium to a 90-seat recital hall.

Each year, the Hop presents the exceptional talents of Dartmouth students through performances by its nine ensembles, plus the Marching Band. A distinguished professional director leads each Ensemble and repertoire ranges from baroque and classical to cutting edge world music and jazz—including the work of composers and choreographers specially commissioned by the Hop. Hop Ensembles also perform with celebrated guest artists from time to time—Jaime Laredo, Luther “Guitar Junior” Johnson, Paul Hillier and Eddie Palmieri are just a few who have appeared on stage with Dartmouth students in recent years.
