DFS Film: The Iron Lady
This film replaces the previously-announced screening of The Artist
Best Actress Winner: Meryl Streep
This new biopic examines the rise and fall of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Meryl Streep’s performance is astonishing and flawless, a masterpiece of mimicry complete with the basilisk stare and the tilted, faintly predatory posture. A look at the price of power; what emerges is a surprising and insightful portrait of an extraordinary and complex woman. D: Phyllida Lloyd, UK, 2011, 105 minutes
