Max Raabe and Palast Orchester

A sensation in their first Hop appearance in 2008, the over-the-top Raabe (“a wised-up adult choirboy with a slightly seductive glint in his eye”–The New York Times) and his orchestra return with a fresh array of vintage hits and saucy originals. Impeccably recalling the elegant decadence of pre-war ‘20s and ‘30s Berlin, down to the period microphone into which the ultra-debonair Raabe croons, Max charms fans worldwide with his perfectly polished musical time capsule.

How nice to know that he is back performing again. I watched him in 2008 when I was still a student in Dartmouth. I want to see him again and for sure will be there to watch his performance.

“A pearl necklace of historical vignettes brought to life. We are back in the louche cabaret scene of Weimar, Germany one moment, lounging in a smoky-smart Manhattan supper club the next.”
