Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers

An evening of bluegrass and comedy

Due to the overwhelming response from Dartmouth students, Hop Members, subscribers to HopMail, and community members this show is SOLD-OUT! Be among the first to hear about future add-on events and more—become a Hop Member or sign-up for HopMail today.

Actor, comedian, author, playwright and musician Steve Martin wields his five-string banjo as he joins the outstanding progressive bluegrass ensemble the Steep Canyon Rangers for an evening of topnotch musical entertainment—including Martin’s irrepressible wit. Martin launched his career as a banjo-playing stand-up comedian but has since graduated to the ranks of serious musician, winning a Grammy for his 2009 solo banjo album The Crow, which “won over the hard-to-please bluegrass crowd and sits atop America’s bluegrass charts” (Toronto Star). Ranking among the country’s premier acoustic ensembles, the Rangers have “emerged as one of the most engaging string bands around, and…the future looks even brighter” (The Washington Post).

  2. Hopkins Center says:

The band’s tour schedule does not allow for an additional performance in Hanover. They will, however, perform in Boston on May 29-30.
