Dartmouth Dance Ensemble

Building from a rich history of dance and entrepreneurship at Dartmouth College, the Dartmouth Dance Ensemble is a professionally led performance group devoted to showcasing Dartmouth students, staff and community members in the work of established choreographers. Director John Heginbotham and Choreographer-in-Residence Rebecca Stenn, both based out of NYC, offer training in ballet and contemporary dance techniques, multiple performance opportunities throughout the academic year and the chance to experience a breadth of dance styles and content. Since its inception in 1999, the DDE has created close to 50 works, collaborated with Upper Valley and NYC-based musicians, hosted masterclasses by award-winning artists, and participated in performance tours to Costa Rica and New Zealand. During the 2018/19 season, the DDE is excited to announce ambitious collaborations with composer Tyondai Braxton and the Barbary Coast Jazz Ensemble.

See a sample of the DDE’s work below. Lost/Left, part II, choreography by Philip Montana.
