Film Calendar

This Spring, we're getting theatrical with our live guests! Actor and playwright Sharon Washington '81 (Ray, Joker) will join director Chuck Schultz for a Q&A with the moving documentary about the joys and challenges of developing a one-woman show based on her life. And HBO showrunner Steve Warren '82 is bringing a sneak peek of the sensational drag reality series WE'RE HERE, along with a very special guest—and Dartmouth's House of Lewan drag club plans to walk the red carpet for the premiere!

Fans of live arts will also enjoy our "Art on Screen" offerings this term, with performances from Beyoncé on tour, Joseph Fiennes as a British footballer, and Ralph Fiennes as Macbeth all heading to the big screen. Horticulturalists and artists alike will also delight in Painting the Modern Garden, highlighting the work of Monet, Van Gogh and Matisse.

Speaking of masterpieces, this Spring features standout films from around the globe, including Oscar nominees from Germany and Japan. Your seat at the Loew is a first-class ticket to travel the world with our "Movies on the Map" series, stories that will immerse you in cultures and natural wonders on every continent.

One program in this series (Havana Divas with director Louisa Wei in person) is among our free events this term. We also invite you to check out free advance screenings of the hit Sundance doc Girls State and the action comedy The Fall Guy, as well as a free showing of Common Ground to kick off Earth Week, in partnership with Dartmouth Sustainability.

Hop Film is funded in part by the Orton Hicks 1921 Film Fund and the Philip Fowler 1927 Fund for the Hopkins Center.
