Bach St. John Passion, BWV 245

This town-gown chorus performs one of the most powerful musical retellings of the final days of Christ’s life. With guest soloists as the main characters and the chorus portraying crowds of soldiers, priests and the populace, the music takes us from the desolation of death to the light and hope of resurrection.

The nation’s oldest town-gown choral society offers transformative musical experiences through the performance of major choral-orchestral works, both old and new. In 2017-2018, the 100-voice ensemble, performs powerful works that speak to our time while being timeless in beauty.
