20/21 Hop Presents

Dance that celebrates the beauty of nature, humanity and life itself.

Founded and directed by Dartmouth Alum Moses Pendleton '71, this ensemble of dancer-illusionists is known internationally for creating works of astounding and inventive physicality. Each element of MOMIX's productions — its costumes, lights, sets and sounds — are carefully crafted to absorb audiences in its fantasy world and Pendleton calls the "stream of unconsciousness." This program for all ages invites you to sit back, suspend your disbelief and enjoy the magic of movement.

For more than 40 years, MOMIX has astonished audiences with nothing more than light, shadow, props and the human body, creating "beguiling, eye-filling and often impressive visual and movement theatrics" (The Washington Post). In addition to stage performances, MOMIX has worked in film and television with performances on PBS's "Dance in America" series, France's Antenne II, and Italian RAI television, and the company's repertory has been broadcast to 55 countries. The company joined the Montreal Symphony in the Rhombus Media film of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, winner of an International Emmy for Best Performing Arts Special. MOMIX was also featured in IMAGINE, one of the first 3-D IMAX films to be released in IMAX theaters world-wide. Participating in the Homage a Picasso in Paris, MOMIX was also selected to represent the US at the European Cultural Center at Delphi. MOMIX has been commissioned by corporations such as Fiat and Mercedes Benz, performing at Fiat's month long 100th Anniversary Celebration in Torino, Italy and Mercedes Benz's International Auto Show in Frankfurt, Germany.
