Tomeka Reid is one of the leading figures in creative music of her generation — a composer and bandleader of increasing renown, a trailblazer on the cello and a favored collaborator of legends of the music like Roscoe Mitchell, Anthony Braxton and Nicole Mitchell. She is a tenacious scholar and grassroots organizer committed to celebrating the unsung figures in the community, currently working on a project recognizing women in the Association for the Advancement of Creative Music. Tomeka and Taylor are regular collaborators, and are beginning to work on a book discussing the history of creative music told from the artists' perspectives.
