Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood

Fall Film Slate

This fall's film slate reminds us of why we love the movies, whetting our appetites for the winter awards season. The 34th Telluride at Dartmouth launches the term, and then we turn our focus to movies about moviemaking: Quentin Tarantino's love letter to the 1960s movie business, Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood;  the untold story of a female film pioneer in Be Natural: The Untold Story of Alice Guy- Blaché; the beloved Italian classic Cinema Paradiso (one of four titles curated by the Dartmouth Film Society); a political satire unfolding on the set of a popular Palestinian soap opera in Tel Aviv on Fire; and Paul Anton Smith's masterful montage of moviegoing scenes from over 1000 films in Have You Seen My Movie?

The new releases are a mix of festival favorites and big screen fun coalescing around our four consistent themes: a social justice focus in #ReelChange, masterworks and connections to Dartmouth classes in #FilmSchool, strong women on screen and behind the camera in #HearMeRoar and thrilling spectacles in #MovieMagic, including annual favorites Mountainfilm on Tour and the Animation Show of Shows.
