Summer Rewind

Summer Rewind

Fresh popcorn. Classic movies. Both great.

The best movies benefit from the largest possible screen and surround sound. Some films are simply more powerful when the presentation matches the grandeur, such as the balletic fight scenes of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, set to Yo-Yo Ma's moving score, when you experience them with immersive picture and sound. Other films require your undivided attention in order to appreciate their subtlety and detail. Jeanne Dielman enjoys the coveted spot at the top of Sight and Sound's critics' poll of the Greatest Films of All Time because of how the film works on the viewer as a totalizing, uninterrupted experience.

The big screen also means community and a night out with the family. To that end, we are including family-friendly classics in the summer lineup. The timeless sci-fi adventure Back to the Future returns to the Hop in conjunction with the new documentary portrait of Michael J. Fox (STILL). And in anticipation of the prequel starring Timothée Chalamet, we're giving you a golden ticket to the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, starring the immortal Gene Wilder.

We'll have popcorn for purchase at these screenings.
