Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR)—composer, violinist, activist, educator, creator—is in residence at the Hopkins Center as the Roth Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Dartmouth for the 2020/21 academic year.

Daniel is known for his signature violin sounds infused with electronic, urban and African-American music influences. He has composed chamber, orchestral and operatic works and created large scale musical events for public spaces. He is also an Emmy winner for Outstanding Musical Composition for his collaborations with ESPN.  Daniel is one of the creators and performers of The Just and the Blind about the realities of incarcerated youth and their families, which performed at the Hop in January 2020.
