The Hopkins Center is at the core of a vibrant Dartmouth Arts District pulsing right at the heart of campus.
Dartmouth continues its decade-long investment of over $190 million in the arts district, which includes the Hood Museum of Art, redesigned by Tod Williams and Billie Tsien Architects in 2019, and the Black Family Visual Arts Center, completed in 2012 by the design firm Machado Silvetti. The reimagining and expansion of the Hopkins Center is now a cornerstone of The Call to Lead: a campaign for Dartmouth, which is dramatically expanding experiential learning opportunities within the liberal arts educational model.
The Hop Project
Guided by the trans-disciplinary design firm Snøhetta, we are now transforming the Hop to meet the needs of our artists and communities. The new Hop, reopening in 2025, will be a place of welcome, gathering and creation.
The Hood Museum's collections are drawn from a broad range of cultures and historical periods and represent a remarkable educational asset for both Dartmouth and the communities of the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont.
Run out of the 237-seat Loew Auditorium, Hop Film celebrates the scope, beauty and impact of film through a diverse, unique and engaging slate that encourages film literacy and appreciation in the Dartmouth community and beyond.
