All The President's Men - Trailer

Widely considered one of the most influential films of the 20th century, this Exhibit A of political thrillers is worth a second look in light of the recent Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity. Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman are perfectly matched as reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, whose investigation of a seemingly minor break-in set the stage for President Nixon's resignation. Navigating the dark corridors of corruption and power, their quest to uncover the truth remains one of the most inspiring examples of how journalists can help hold our leaders accountable.

In 1976, The New York Times offered this praise: "All the President's Men is a lot of things all at once: a spellbinding detective story about the work of the two Washington Post reporters who helped break the Watergate scandal, a breathless adventure that recalls the triumphs of Frank and Joe Hardy in that long-ago series of boys' books, and a vivid footnote to some contemporary American history that still boggles the mind. The film, which opened yesterday at Loews Astor Plaza and Tower East Theaters, is an unequivocal smash-hit—the thinking man's Jaws."
