May 12, 2020

This event occurred as part of the 19/20 Hop@Home season. This is an archived view.

Hop Members are invited to a virtual cocktail party before the screening of the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra's 2018 performance of Mahler's Fifth Symphony in Siena, Italy.

2020/21 Hop@Home

DSO members and conductor Filippo Ciabatti will join the party to share their memories of this remarkable concert tour.

In December 2018, the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra undertook a concert tour unlike any other in the ensemble's history. With the Orchestra Toscana dei Conservatori, whose players come from elite music academies throughout Italy's Tuscany region, the DSO spent 10 days performing concerts in Florence, Montepulciano, Lucca and Siena. Some Hop members joined the group for a schedule of music, cultural experiences and really good meals (ask about the ceremonial toasts!).

Hop Members, email Kimberly Shreve to RSVP and we'll send you a Zoom link.
