On the placid waters of the Venetian lagoon, beyond the urban canals, a subculture of mostly young men tune and soup up their speedboats before racing with abandon. Yuri Ancarani's symphonic cinematic treatment of this not-so-glamorous side of Venice, Italy, is a startling collision of nature and machinery, absorption and stimulation, form and content.
