The Brutalist
The Brutalist
Adrien Brody, Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce star in this sweeping epic about Hungarian Jewish architect László Toth as he rebuilds his life in post-WWII America.
Hop Film Now
Escaping post-war Europe, Hungarian Jewish architect László Toth (Adrien Brody) arrives in America to rebuild his life in an unfamiliar land. While waiting for his wife (Felicity Jones) to join him, fate leads the Bauhaus-instructed genius into the orbit of the volatile Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce), an obscenely wealthy captain of industry, who leads him to both professional success and personal chaos.
Directed by Brady Corbet (Vox Lux), this richly detailed American epic (shot on 35mm!) invites reflection on how certain events give shape to our lives and how much of ourselves we put in our work. Like a cross between The Godfather and The Fountainhead, this tale of a striving immigrant whose "American Dream" might be his destruction is a throwback to the massive cinematic undertakings of an earlier age.

Winner of three Golden Globes, including Best Picture (Drama), Best Director and Best Actor (Adrien Brody)
Adrien Brody has seldom been better, bringing tremendous gravitas but also a pain that gnaws at László’s prideful sense of self, one of purpose and destiny. It’s a towering performance.
