Fleabag
This event occurred as part of the 19/20 Art On Screen season. This is an archived view.
Written and performed by multi-Emmy winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge ('Fleabag', 'Killing Eve'), this witty, filthy, go-for-broke comedy is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life.
19/20 Art On ScreenDon't miss your chance to see the hilarious one-woman show that inspired the hit BBC series and played for sold-out audiences in New York and London!
Fleabag (the title character, whose real name we never learn) may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea-pig–themed café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.
On September 22, the television series Fleabag won six Primetime Emmy Awards, including trophies for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Actress in a Comedy (Waller-Bridge), Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Waller-Bridge), and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (Harry Bradbeer).
Co-sponsored by the Student Wellness Center. Stick around after the show on Oct 10 to learn about resources available to students for building healthy relationships and information about sexual health!
Note: Adult themes and content
“Never has being a modern woman seemed so painfully funny, brutal, and hopeless all at once.”
The Atlantic
“Funny, vibrant, and blunt as a hammerhead.”
