This event occurred as part of the 22/23 Theater Department season. This is an archived view.
Something like a concert, something like a play, told in songs and stories.
22/23 Theater DepartmentWritten and performed by Mona Pirnot
Directed by Lucas Hnath
Onstage there's a table. On the table there's a laptop. The playwright sits at the table with her back to the audience. The playwright opens the laptop. From the laptop, we hear the voice of a text-to-speech tool named Microsoft David. Microsoft David reads the playwright's stories out loud. In-between the stories, the playwright plays songs.
Mona Pirnot is an NYC-based playwright, songwriter and member of EST/Youngblood. Plays include Private (Mosaic Theater, Mirrorbox Theatre, 2019 Kilroy's List) and Offshore Clinical Trials (2019 EST/Sloan commission.)
