Intimo Farruquito
This event occurred as part of the 22/23 Hop Presents season. This is an archived view.
Fiery flamenco in its purest form.
The international flamenco superstar is heir to the legendary Farruco dynasty and has been hailed by critics and audiences alike for his prodigious artistry, incredible personality, profound poetry and captivating beauty.
The new show, Intimo Farruquito, recounts the origins and history of flamenco while revealing the dancer's most personal side. Using traditional flamenco styles such as tangos, soleá, bulerías or alegrías, he conveys emotion, power and beauty in each movement.
Together with a stellar cast of dancers, musicians and vocalists, Farruquito evokes a journey through flamenco full of sensations and freedom; returning his roots to the stage while contemplating the world from within.
A gathering with the artists follows in the Russo Atrium in the Hood Museum of Art.
Generously supported by the Amy and Henry Nachman Jr 1951 Fund for Visiting Performing Artists in Dance, the Melville 1960 and Leila Straus Fund, and Judy H. and Thomas E. Oxman '71.
