Lanterns for Winter Nights!

Open to students located in the Hanover area and on-campus
Cost: $15. All tools and materials provided.
Instructor: Sarah Heimann

Dates for two sessions:
Tuesday, Feb 9 from 5-6 pm ET and Thursday, Feb 11 from 5-6 pm ET
Registration deadline end of Friday, Feb 5; 15 participants

Make a small lantern with clay slabs. Working with air-dry clay, incising, piercing, patterning, stenciling and painting to decorate the lantern. The lantern will dry hard and can be used with a battery-powered tea light. Attendance at both sessions required.

Session #1: Constructing the lantern form
Tuesday, Feb 9, 5-6 pm ET
Make paper models and roll out clay slabs.

Session #2: Piercing and decorating the form
Thursday, Feb 11, 5-6 pm ET
Refine and develop the form by incising and piercing. Work with stencils, paint and applique to decorate the finished piece.
