Started in 2008, Dartmouth Idol is an annual extravaganza of music, dancing and show-biz panache, led by Walt Cunningham, Hop Director of Pop Ensembles. Students come from all corners of campus to engage in this inclusive, loving singing competition. Chosen from dozens of entrants, a group of semi-finalists compete in a karaoke-style Semi-Finals show, from which six contestants progress to the Finals a month later. In the intervening month, the Finalists work with Walt, each other and other talented campus singers, dancers and musicians to fashion a spectacular culminating show.
