Cheer on the Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble as they perform across the border and enjoy the sights and sounds of the vibrant city.
22/23 Member EventHop Director Mary Lou Aleskie, Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble Director Brian Messier and Dr. Messier's student musicians will cross the border for a tour of the city.
There, the ensemble performs the world premiere of Enrico Chapela's Concerto for Drum Kit and Wind Ensemble with the Banda Sinfónica of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México at Sala Nezahualcoyotl, one of Latin America's premier classical music venues. They will also hold a reading session for Mexican composers, have a studio recording session, and more!
Enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of one of the most populous, cosmopolitan and vibrant modern cities in the world while supporting our students as they serve as cultural ambassadors and advance the goals of the Hop's Mexican Repertoire Initiative.
