Marvel Studios' Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings | Official Trailer

The latest installment in the Marvel Universe channels Black Panther, Captain America and Thor: Ragnarok in seamlessly blending great spectacle, striking performances and intricate depictions of family. Simu Liu is Shang-Chi, who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organization. Tony Leung (In the Mood for Love) gives an astonishing performance as the grief-crazed Wenwu, Awkwafina delights as Shang-Chi's friend Katy and the ever-magnetic Michelle Yeoh is Jiang Nan. With jaw-dropping action sequences, self-deprecating humor and immense soulfulness, Shang-Chi is a hugely entertaining step in the right direction for Asian representation—and the result is pure magic. D: Destin Daniel Cretton, US, 2021

"It embraces fruitful ideas, big and small, whether in cohesive action scenes, embracing platonic friendships in a mega-budget movie, or introducing a new exciting hero who also has to instruct his friend (and the audience) on how to properly say his name. This movie is not an experiment for Marvel and Disney. It is a promising template for how they can get it right again." —RogerEbert.com
