Time Warp
Time Warp
A small-town drag theater company stages a shadow cast of the cult classic 'Rocky Horror Picture Show' in this inspiring documentary of self-expression.
Lights up on Rock Springs, Wyoming—a dusty boomtown in one of the country's most conservative states—where 25-year-old Kenny Starling has done something audacious: opened the first drag and queer theater company in town. Their debut show? A shadow cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Kenny's mission: to bring queer visibility, joy and acceptance to the high desert plains of Wyoming.
Director Allison Berg captures the fledgling Starling Company's diverse troupe of thespians as they mount their inaugural production. From exhausting rehearsals to thrift store costume hunts, the film immerses us in the lives of its vibrant cast, revealing both the exhilaration of performance and the realities of navigating life as queer artists in America.
Celebrating 50 years of cult fandom, The Rocky Horror Picture Show's spirit of rebellion and self-actualization feels more vital than ever. In a time marked by division and uncertainty, Time Warp celebrates the resilience, artistry and joy of queer communities
