The Dartmouth College Glee Club is a group of approximately 40 distinguished choral singers that boasts a rich musical and collegiate history. The club's ever-increasing repertoire spans five centuries, including many of the masterworks of choral-orchestral literature, a cappella works and the cherished songs of Dartmouth College. Recent performances have included Trois Chansons of both Debussy and Ravel, Brahms's Zigeunerlieder Op. 103, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Vivaldi's Gloria in D Major, RV 589, David Lang's I Lie, Five English Folk Songs arranged by Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Old American Songs arranged by Aaron Copland.

The Glee Club has toured internationally to Canada, Italy, Brazil and Spain, and regularly tours all across the United States, most recently performing in schools across the American South, including New Orleans in 2017. The group has released five CDs of choral music and performed the Brahms Requiem in Carnegie Hall in 2000. Their tour to Cuba in December 2014 included the rarely performed Romancero Gitano for guitar and chorus.

The Glee Club prides itself on its integral role in the history of Dartmouth College. Since its inception in the 1800s, the choir has maintained close ties to the Dartmouth community, performing traditional school songs at homecoming and graduation as well as more varied repertoire at termly concerts. The Glee Club welcomes students auditioning for the 2020-2021 school year, and looks forward to bringing its legacy of musical excellence into the future.

The Glee Club plans to work on small-group ensemble projects throughout the term, meeting in groups of 4 and 5 people so as to focus on improving individual musicality. This option will be available to those both on and off-campus: small-group meetings will tentatively be held in person for those at Dartmouth (socially-distanced, masked and following all campus safety regulations) and small-group Zoom meetings will be available for those off-campus. The chamber choir approach will be supplemented with a virtual, large-group choir project spanning the entire term, and bi-weekly virtual meetings focusing on music education, guest speakers, repertoire-learning and master class sessions. The Glee Club is finalizing options for both virtual and in-person (responsibly masked and socially-distanced) social events and musical programming for its members throughout the year.

Please check back on this page in the fall for rehearsal days and times.
