"La Maca," a notorious prison in the middle of the Ivorian forest, is ruled by its inmates. As tradition goes with the rising of the red moon, the Boss chooses a new, young prisoner to be the "Roman"  who must tell a story that lasts until dawn to the other prisoners, or suffer a terrible fate. This restless and beautiful film combines the mysticism and theatricality of Roman's tale with the grittiness and violence of the prison.
