School Matinee Series at the Hop

School Matinee Series

The Hop believes that the arts are essential to young people's hearts and minds. That's why school-aged youth can experience live performances for just $6 per ticket.

Going to the theater is more than just a fun field trip; it's an opportunity for students to think critically and creatively about works of art and to make connections with their academic studies and personal lives. A live performance ignites a young person's imagination, helps them make meaning of the world, and develop a lifelong love of the arts.

Our School Matinee Series supports students' access to the arts by offering schools and registered homeschool families affordable tickets to dynamic and diverse music, theater, and dance performances. After the performance, students have an opportunity to ask the artists questions in an interactive Q&A; we love hearing the curious and insightful questions they come up with! Each performance is paired with a study guide that includes discussion questions and learning activities tailored to school curriculum standards.

We hope you'll join us in connecting students with powerful and joyful learning experiences through the arts.

Funded in part by the Brown Foundation Arts Education Fund, the Dr. John H. Carter 1946 Fund and the Charles M. Liddle III 1952 Fund.

A note about COVID-19:
We are currently working with Dartmouth to determine the safest course of action for bringing audiences together in person for live events. We will provide updates about the School Matinee Series as soon as we have more information, and we hope to have students and teachers back at the Hop soon — we miss you all!
