The Dartmouth Dance Ensemble is a professionally led performance group devoted to showcasing the talent of Dartmouth College students, staff and community members in the work of established choreographers.
Director John Heginbotham and Choreographer-in-Residence Rebecca Stenn, both based out of NYC, offer training in ballet and contemporary dance techniques, multiple performance opportunities throughout the academic year and the chance to experience a breadth of dance styles and content.
Join Dartmouth Dance Ensemble
The Dartmouth Dance Ensemble (DDE) is an all-inclusive group, and no audition is required to join. Members of the DDE come from a range of experience; some members are professional-level dancers, and some have relatively little formal dance training. All are welcome. Meetings and rehearsals take place on Sundays from 2-4 pm in Straus Dance Studio. Questions about joining DDE? Please email John Heginbotham, Director of DDE.
After many months of developing our dances remotely, members of the Dartmouth Dance Ensemble gathered together, many of us in-person, to share two informal outdoor concerts. The performers include Dartmouth undergrads, faculty and All-Star alumni.
In this ambitious new virtual dance on film project, Dance Heginbotham (DH) collaborates with violinist Colin Jacobsen, "one of the most interesting figures on the classical music scene" (The Washington Post).
There’s a new production of “Oklahoma!” on Broadway directed by Daniel Fish and choreographed by Dartmouth’s own John Heginbotham that’s surprising audiences and winning praise from critics.
