This two-day virtual intensive is an introduction to devising, a process that upends theater's traditional hierarchies to create a collaborative environment where each participant contributes to the whole. This workshop on "Devised Theatre and Performance" traces the journey from a single creative impulse to a full performance. Learn how to launch an original performance work through Pig Iron Theatre Company's tried-and-true creation processes. Participants rev up their artistic engines through physical, vocal and improvisational structures, using their creative spark to become a raging artistic fire. The workshop culminates with short scenes being performed for workshop participants.

Quinn Bauriedel is a founder and co-artistic director of Pig Iron Theatre Company, one of the foremost ensemble-devising theater companies in the country, as well as director of the Pig Iron School for Advanced Performance Training.
