Daryl Roth Studio Theater 2h00m

A Hip Hop freestyle dance bursting with fast feet and stories of community.

Harlem Lite Feet pioneer Chrybaby Cozie and members of the renowned Bomb Squad dance through their lived experience of the origins and evolution of this vibrant NYC dance tradition.

The two-part experience starts in the Daryl Roth Studio Theater and transitions into a freestyle dance cypher for all at the Top of the Hop. "Get lite" and dance in the New Year.

Litefeet, also known as "getting lite," is a dynamic street dance style that originated in Harlem and the Bronx in the early 2000s. The term "Litefeet" reflects the dance's emphasis on light, rapid steps that give the impression of weightlessness.

Commissioned by Works & Process, Chrybaby Cozie has created Chrysolation with Works & Process residencies at Potash Hill (2025 and 2026), and developed Chrysolation with support from 92NY as part of the inaugural Uptown Rhythm Dance Festival, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Jerome Robbins Dance Division, Hi-ARTS, and administrative support from Creative Netwerk

Funded in part by the David E. Skinner II 1942 Fund.

Daniel "Chrybaby Cozie" Holloway is a Harlem-born pioneer of the Lite Feet movement—a high-energy freestyle dance emerging in the early 2000s that is a part of the continuum of hip-hop culture. Deeply influenced by Harlem's rich culture, he has dedicated his life to uplifting youth through dance, education, and community engagement. Chrybaby has worked with top artists including Chris Brown, Ron Browz, and ASAP Ferg, and performed on major stages like the Apollo Theater, Summer Jam, and Hip Hop 50 live Yankee stadium. As a respected educator and cultural ambassador, he has taught at institutions such as Broadway Dance Center, Jacob's Pillow, and internationally in Taiwan, Switzerland, India, and Canada. He is the founder of The Breakfast Club E.A.T. and Lite Feet Nation—organizations focused on youth leadership and cultural preservation—and currently serves as Program Manager for Creative Netwerk in NYC, bringing dance and DJ education to hundreds of underserved youth. His mantra, "Level Up Amongst The Greatest," embodies his commitment to excellence and empowerment through movement.
