Hop Project: Community Campaign

Just announced! A dollar-for-dollar gift match.

For 60 years, the Hop has served as a cultural hub for the Upper Valley and surrounding region, bringing world-class artists to Hanover and broadening access to the arts for families and schools.

A dedicated committee of local residents and arts supporters, recognizing the importance of the Hop to the Upper Valley, aims to raise $5 million towards the project's overall goal of $89 million. As of the launch of this community effort, generous Upper Valley community members have committed nearly $2 million.

New Hampshire and Vermont residents and property owners are eligible to participate in the community campaign.

  • Gifts of all sizes will be recognized in the building dedication program.
  • Gifts of $25,000 or more will be recognized on donor recognition signage near Spaulding Auditorium.
  • Gifts of $100,000 or more will also be recognized on the primary donor recognition wall at the new north entrance to the Hopkins Center.

There are several places on Dartmouth’s campus where town and gown come together in magical ways. The Hopkins Center is one of those special places. When attending a Hopkins Center performance, we are warmly welcomed by the Dartmouth campus and embraced by good friends from all around the community. Welcoming, gathering and creating are words at the core of the Hopkins Center mission. We see these words come to life every time we enter its doors. We feel so fortunate to have this “big city” cultural center in our backyard.

The Hopkins Center provides those of us in the Upper Valley with extraordinary, world-class performances - conveniently and at very reasonable cost. It's one of the things that makes living here so special! So we're delighted with the plans to improve the audience environment and are happy to participate with the community in doing our part to make it happen. Please join us!
