Inventive dances that celebrate the beauty of nature, humanity and life itself.
21/22 Hop PresentsFounded and directed by Dartmouth alum and Pilobolus co-founder Moses Pendleton '71, MOMIX is loved and internationally lauded for their imaginative works of astounding physicality. Choreography, costumes, lights, sets and sounds are cohesively crafted to absorb audiences in their fantasy worlds. Come experience what Pendleton calls the "stream of unconsciousness."
Viva MOMIX is a two-act set mixing vignettes from new works with treasured favorites—Botanica (2009), Alchemia (2014), Remix (2011), Opus Cactus (2001) and Lunar Sea (2005). Known for their playful and whimsical style, this program for all ages invites you to sit back, suspend your disbelief and enjoy the magic of movement.

For more than 40 years, MOMIX has astonished audiences with nothing more than light, props and human bodies, creating "beguiling, eye-filling and often impressive visual and movement theatrics" (The Washington Post). In addition to stage performances, MOMIX has worked in film and television with performances on PBS's "Dance in America" series, France's Antenne II, and Italian RAI television, and the company's repertory has been broadcast to 55 countries. The company joined the Montreal Symphony in the Rhombus Media film of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, winner of an International Emmy for Best Performing Arts Special. MOMIX was also featured in IMAGINE, one of the first 3-D IMAX films to be released in IMAX theaters world-wide. Participating in the Homage a Picasso in Paris, MOMIX was also selected to represent the US at the European Cultural Center at Delphi. MOMIX has been commissioned by corporations such as Fiat and Mercedes Benz, performing at Fiat's month long 100th Anniversary Celebration in Torino, Italy and Mercedes Benz's International Auto Show in Frankfurt, Germany.
