The orchestra kicks off the term with two great classics: Barber's Cello Concerto and Dvořák's The New World Symphony.

Join us for a musical portrait of America as a place that both inspires and is inspired. The program begins with Gershwin's Cuban Overture, an American composer's response to Cuban rhythms, followed by Barber's Cello Concerto, a quintessentially American work. The evening closes with Dvořák's New World Symphony, composed by the Czech when he was visiting the US.
Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra is funded in part by the Roesch Family Fund in Support of Instrumental Ensembles and Friends of the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra.
