The Latin Grammy winners return to perform alongside the ensemble in an exciting program bridging the Hop's past and future.
Brian Messier, director
Latin Grammy-winning trumpet virtuoso Pacho Flores and cuatro master Héctor Molina join the ensemble for a night celebrating Venezuelan musical brilliance. The program features the Wind Band Premiere of Gabriela Ortiz's Antrópolis, by the multi-Grammy-winning Mexican composer and two fanfares that bridge the Hop's history: Darius Milhaud's Fanfare, written for the center's 1962 dedication, and Jim Stephenson's Fanfare for the Arts, newly commissioned for the building's rededication.
Funded in part by the Deborah E. & Arthur E. Allen Jr. 1932 Fund, the Richard F. Mattern 1970 Fund and Friends of the Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble.
