featuring Ye Vagabonds, pianist Thomas Bartlett and dancersA rollicking and rich journey through Irish traditional and folk music, brought to life by an exceptional cast of collaborators.
Both rooted and exploratory, An Irish Celebration showcases Irish music as a living, breathing art form, shaped by tradition, innovation and the powerful cultural exchange between Ireland and the United States. Jigs, hornpipes and reels played with precision transport you to a trad session at a local Irish pub. Then the boundary-pushing musicians bring in the American folk forms influenced by their Celtic roots. At the heart of the evening is the Martin Hayes Quartet, who are joined by acclaimed pianist and producer Thomas Bartlett (Doveman) and the luminous Irish folk duo Ye Vagabonds, with additional special guests.
This unique program celebrates the depth of Ireland's musical heritage and its enduring influences. Through a seamless blend of solo performance, intimate collaboration and expansive ensemble playing, the concert traces the emotional range and evolving spirit of this music, at once ancient and ever-new.

Praised by the Irish Times as a musician with an "insatiable appetite for adventure," Martin Hayes is regarded as one of the most significant talents to emerge in the world of Irish traditional music. He is the founder of the musical supergroup The Gloaming, The Common Ground Ensemble and the Martin Hayes Quartet. He is the artistic director of Masters of Tradition, an annual festival in Cork, Ireland, and a cocurator for the Marble Sessions at the Kilkenny Arts Festival, Ireland.
Ye Vagabonds return with a new album All Tied Together, their first since 2022's Nine Waves. Recorded mostly live in an old Galway house with acclaimed producer Phillip Weinrobe (Big Thief, Adrienne Lenker) at the helm, the dynamic All Tied Together arrangements are credited to a collaborative group of (sometimes ten) musicians. No one wore headphones.
While initially achieving renown as purveyors of their ancestors' music mixed with folk-based originals, the Mac Gloinn brothers—Brían and Diarmuid—have increasingly focused on honing their own material, enlisting trusted co-conspirators to distill voice and vision into potent tunes. They have brought their interpretation of the Irish folk tradition to global audiences, going from Trad sessions to touring with the likes of Hozier and boygenius.
“...unpredictable, richly textured, at times delirious and so, so full of heart.”
